The Verisana Lyme Disease test is an easy-to-use at home test that measures your body's reactivity to borrelia bacteria via a simple sample that you take yourself from the fingertip. Verisana's Lyme disease test determines your body's reaction against borrelia bacteria.
The antibodies take several weeks to build up in the bloodstream, so taking the test before 4-6 weeks have passed may result in a false negative result. Cross Reactivity: There is the potential for this test to produce a false positive result in people with Epstein-Barr virus or Toxoplasma. If you were previously diagnosed with Lyme disease, a positive Lyme test cannot distinguish between a current and a previous infection.
