BinaxNOW COVID-19 antigen self test, 2-test kit with nasal swab
The BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self Test is a rapid at-home test that detects COVID-19 antigens from a nasal swab. This kit contains 2 test cards, 2 nasal swabs and 2 reagent bottles, so you can test more than once.
Swab both nostrils, apply the sample to the card and read the result at 15 minutes. People 15 and older can collect their own sample, and an adult can collect for ages 2 to 14. No app, lab or prescription is needed.
Do not read the card before 15 minutes or after 30 minutes. Abbott notes antigen tests can give false negatives, and people with symptoms should test at least twice over 3 days, 48 hours apart. Store at 2 to 30 C and check the box for the expiration date.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I take the test?
Add the reagent drops to the top hole of the card, swab both nostrils (about 15 seconds each), insert the swab into the card, turn it three times, close the card and wait 15 minutes. Follow the illustrated instructions in the box.
When do I read the result?
At 15 minutes. Abbott's labeling says not to read results before 15 minutes or after 30 minutes, as this may give a false positive, false negative or invalid result.
Who can use it?
The labeling covers self-collected nasal swabs from people aged 15 and up, and adult-collected swabs from people aged 2 and up.
How often should I test?
Abbott's labeling states that people with symptoms should test at least twice over 3 days, with at least 48 hours between tests. People without symptoms follow a three-test schedule, so you may need more tests than this kit holds.
Can a negative result be wrong?
Yes. Antigen tests have a higher chance of false negative results than laboratory molecular tests. If you have symptoms or exposure, follow up with a healthcare provider.
Do I need a prescription or an app?
No. The test is labeled for non-prescription home use under an emergency use authorization, and results are read directly on the card.
How should I store it?
Store at 2 to 30 C (35.6 to 86 F) until use and check the expiration date printed on the box.
