Description

OMRON Bronze BP5150 Bluetooth upper arm blood pressure monitor

The OMRON Bronze BP5150 is an automatic upper arm blood pressure monitor for home use by adults. It measures systolic and diastolic pressure and pulse rate with one touch, and it flags irregular heartbeats and body movement on the display.

Pair it over Bluetooth with the free OMRON connect app on a compatible iOS or Android device to sync readings and track trends. The monitor also stores your last 14 readings on its own, and the wide-range D-ring cuff fits upper arms from 9 to 17 inches around.

It runs on 4 AA batteries, which are included, and it tracks one user. It is for adult home use only. Do not change medication or diagnose yourself from the readings, and consult your physician with any questions about your blood pressure.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a phone to use it?

No. The monitor works on its own and stores your last 14 readings. A compatible smartphone or tablet with the free OMRON connect app is only needed to sync and keep a longer history.

Which cuff size does it include?

A wide-range D-ring cuff for adult upper arms measuring 9 to 17 inches (22 to 42 cm) around. OMRON sells a separate cuff for smaller arms (7 to 9 inches).

How many people can use it?

The monitor tracks readings for one user. If you share it, track the other person's readings separately.

What does the irregular heartbeat symbol mean?

It appears when an irregular rhythm is detected two or more times during a measurement. It can also appear if you move your arm. If it keeps appearing, OMRON recommends you consult your physician.

What do the hypertension indicator and movement symbol do?

The hypertension indicator appears if systolic is 130 mmHg or higher or diastolic is 80 mmHg or higher. The movement symbol appears if you moved during the reading, in which case wait 2 to 3 minutes and measure again.

Who should not use it?

It is for adults at home. OMRON says not to use it on infants, toddlers, children or people who cannot express themselves, on an injured arm or an arm under medical treatment, or on an arm with an IV drip or transfusion. Consult your physician first if you have arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, arterial sclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia or renal disease.

Can I change my medication based on the readings?

No. OMRON states not to adjust medication or diagnose or treat yourself based on readings. Only a physician can diagnose and treat high blood pressure, so consult yours.
