Vicks Kids DayQuil and NyQuil Berry cold and cough liquid combo pack, 2 x 8 fl oz

This Vicks Kids value pack has one bottle of DayQuil Kids Berry Cold & Cough + Mucus and one bottle of NyQuil Kids Berry Cold & Cough + Runny Nose, 8 fl oz each, for ages 6 and up. Both liquids have a berry flavor.

DayQuil Kids is non-drowsy and lists relief of nasal and sinus congestion, cough and chest congestion. NyQuil Kids is for nighttime and lists relief of cough, sneezing and runny nose. The pack is labeled free of alcohol and acetaminophen. Each bottle has its own Drug Facts label.

Children 6 to under 12 take 15 mL with the dose cup provided, DayQuil every 4 hours and NyQuil every 6 hours, up to 4 doses in 24 hours. Read both Drug Facts labels first, and do not use with an MAOI.

What is the dose for children 6 to under 12?

15 mL per dose using the dose cup provided. DayQuil Kids every 4 hours and NyQuil Kids every 6 hours, with no more than 4 doses in 24 hours. Ages 12 and over take 30 mL.

What about children under 6?

The package is for ages 6+. For ages 4 to under 6 the labels say to ask a doctor (DayQuil) or not to use unless directed by a doctor (NyQuil). Children under 4 should not use either.

Does it contain acetaminophen or alcohol?

The package states free of alcohol and acetaminophen. It contains FD&C Red No. 40 and sorbitol.

Can NyQuil Kids make my child sleepy?

Marked drowsiness may occur. The label says not to use it to make a child sleepy.

Who should not use it?

Do not use if currently taking a prescription MAOI or for 2 weeks after stopping one. Ask a doctor first for glaucoma, breathing problems, chronic cough or too much phlegm, and for DayQuil also heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes or trouble urinating from an enlarged prostate.
