Children's Zyrtec Allergy syrup is a cetirizine HCl oral solution antihistamine for children 2 years and older. Each 5 mL contains 5 mg of cetirizine, in a grape flavor. The label purpose is antihistamine, for hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies, and it comes in an 8 fl oz bottle.

The package lists 24-hour relief of sneezing, runny nose, itchy, watery eyes and itchy throat or nose from indoor and outdoor allergies. It is labeled dye-free, sugar-free and alcohol-free, and a dosing cup is included. Inactive ingredients include sorbitol solution and sucralose.

Dose by age with the enclosed dosing cup: 2.5 mL once daily for ages 2 to under 6, and 5 mL or 10 mL once daily for ages 6 and over. Drowsiness may occur. Ask a doctor first if your child has liver or kidney disease.

Children 2 to under 6 years: 2.5 mL once daily. If needed, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 5 mL once daily or 2.5 mL every 12 hours, and not more than 5 mL in 24 hours. Children 6 years and over: 5 mL or 10 mL once daily depending on severity, up to 10 mL in 24 hours. Under 2 years, ask a doctor.
