Description
Description
Garmin Index Sleep Monitor upper arm sleep tracker for sleep stages, HRV and recovery
The Garmin Index Sleep Monitor is a screenless sleep tracker that you wear on your upper arm in a soft fabric band. Overnight it records sleep stages, heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, skin temperature, respiration and Body Battery energy.
Data syncs to the Garmin Connect app on Android or iOS, where it feeds sleep and recovery insights. It works with just a Garmin account, and if you also own a Garmin watch it adds the overnight metrics the watch misses. Battery life is up to 7 nights with SpO2 on, and a smart vibrating alarm is available.
The sensor module comes out so the band can be machine washed, and the device carries a 5 ATM water rating. It is a consumer wellness product and is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition. Choose the S-M or L-XL band size to fit your upper arm.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Garmin watch to use it?
No. It works with the Garmin Connect app and a Garmin account. If you also own a Garmin watch, the overnight data fills in sleep-based metrics on the watch.
Which size should I choose?
The band comes in S-M and L-XL. Garmin lists band lengths of 32.6 cm (12.8 in) for S-M and 45.2 cm (17.8 in) for L-XL, both 6.4 cm (2.5 in) wide. Choose the size that fits comfortably on your upper arm.
How long does the battery last?
Garmin states up to 7 nights with SpO2 on. The battery is a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
Is the band washable?
Yes. Remove the sensor module and machine wash the band. Check the owner's manual for care instructions.
Is it water resistant?
Garmin lists a 5 ATM rating, meaning the device withstands pressure equivalent to a depth of 50 m.
Is it a medical device?
It is a consumer wellness wearable. Breathing disturbance and blood oxygen readings are not intended for diagnosis. Talk to your healthcare professional about any health concern.
Does it count steps or have a screen?
No. It is screenless and focuses on sleep and recovery metrics rather than steps.
