The iHealth COVID-19/Flu A&B Rapid Test checks for SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, and influenza B antigens from one anterior nasal swab at home, with no prescription. Read the result at 15 minutes, and not after 30.
It is authorized by FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization for people with symptoms, within the first 4 days of onset, with self-collection for ages 14 and up and adult collection for ages 2 to 13. A negative COVID-19 result should be repeated at least twice over three days, with at least 48 hours between tests.

Is this FDA cleared?
No. The instructions state it has not been FDA cleared or approved and is authorized by FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) issued May 2024, which has not undergone the same type of review as a cleared test.
What does the test do?
It is a lateral flow test for SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, and influenza B antigens from an anterior nasal swab. No prescription is needed.
Who can use it?
Self-collected swabs are for people 14 and older. For ages 2 to 13, an adult collects the swab. It is not authorized for home use in children under 2.
When should I test?
Only when you have symptoms, and within the first 4 days of symptom onset. It is not authorized for people without symptoms.
What if my result is negative?
Serial testing applies: test at least twice over three days, with at least 48 hours between tests. A negative does not rule out COVID-19 or influenza, and negative influenza results are presumptive. Ask a healthcare provider about next steps if symptoms continue.
How long do I wait?
Read at 15 minutes. Do not read before 15 minutes or after 30 minutes, since the result may be wrong.
How do I apply the sample?
Swirl the swab in the extraction tube at least 10 times, squeeze the tube, then squeeze exactly 5 drops onto the sample well. Do not add more than 5 drops. Use the test card within 60 minutes of opening the pouch.
What if the swab hurts or my nose bleeds?
Stop if the swab causes pain. If your nose bleeds, do not reinsert the swab, apply pressure, and consult a professional.
Is this the 25-test Pro kit?
No. The Pro version is authorized for point-of-care use by trained staff. This listing is the home 2-count kit.
How should I store it?
Store the kit at 2 to 30 C (36 to 86 F), and let components reach room temperature (18 to 30 C) before use. Do not use it after the expiration date on the box.
