Thermophore MaxHeat Model 155 moist heating pad, large 14 x 27 inch

The Thermophore MaxHeat Model 155 is a large 14 x 27 inch electric moist heating pad for the back, shoulders, hips and legs. Its fleece cover takes up humidity from the air, so you get moist heat without adding any water.

A one-touch Constant-Comfort hand switch gives three heat settings, reaching up to 165F, on a 10 foot cord. A built-in 25-minute auto shutoff turns the pad off, and the removable fleece flannel cover can be taken off for cleaning.

Plug it into a standard 120V AC outlet and keep the pad flat, not folded. Do not lie on it, and do not use it on fresh injuries, swelling or open wounds. Hand wash the cover in cool water, drip dry, and skip fabric softener.

No. The pad uses automatic moist heat: the fleece cover absorbs humidity from the surrounding air and the heat releases it during use.

How long does it run?

It has a built-in auto shutoff after about 25 minutes. Per the manual you can restart it after waiting a few minutes.

Up to 165F on the highest of three settings, controlled with the hand switch.

Can I lie on it?

No. The manufacturer says not to lie on this or any heating pad. Keep it flat, not folded or bunched, and do not use it on fresh injuries, swelling or open wounds.

How do I clean the cover?

Hand wash the cover in cool water with mild detergent and drip dry. Do not use fabric softener, which reduces moisture absorption. Let it dry fully before reuse.

What if it feels too hot or irritates my skin?

Turn it off and unplug it right away, as the manual directs. Do not bypass the auto shutoff.
