Description
Blood pressure and EKG in one monitor
The Omron BP7900 measures blood pressure with an upper arm cuff and records a single-channel EKG, using one device. Results sync by Bluetooth to the compatible OMRON app, where the EKG is analyzed.
The app reports Possible Atrial Fibrillation, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, Normal, Unreadable or Unclassified after a recording of at least 30 seconds. The monitor stores up to 90 blood pressure readings, and the included D-ring cuff fits upper arms 9 to 17 in (22 to 42 cm).

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What is in the box?
Omron's manual lists the monitor, wide-range D-ring cuff, storage case, 4 AA alkaline batteries, the instruction manual and the quick start guide.
Do I need a phone for the EKG?
Yes. The EKG is recorded on the monitor, but you view and analyze it in the compatible OMRON app, and your smartphone sits on the monitor's smartphone stand during recording. A recording must be at least 30 seconds to be analyzed.
What can the EKG analysis tell me?
The app reports Possible Atrial Fibrillation, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, Normal, Unreadable or Unclassified. Omron states these are potential findings, not a complete diagnosis, and should be reviewed by a medical professional.
Does it detect every heart problem?
No. The AFib detector evaluates for possible atrial fibrillation only, after you record an EKG. It does not continuously monitor your heart and will not detect other potentially life threatening arrhythmias. A Normal result does not guarantee you are not experiencing an arrhythmia.
Who should not use the EKG?
Omron says not to record an EKG if you have a cardiac pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator or other implanted electronic device, and not to record during cautery or external defibrillation. The device has not been tested and is not intended for pediatric use.
Can I take only a blood pressure reading?
Yes. The monitor can measure blood pressure only, EKG only, or both together. Blood pressure readings show on the monitor's LCD and transfer to the app by Bluetooth.
What arm size does it take?
The included cuff fits upper arms 9 to 17 in (22 to 42 cm). An optional 7 to 9 in cuff is sold separately by Omron.
Who should not use the blood pressure function?
Omron says not to use it on infants, toddlers, children or people who cannot express themselves, on an injured arm or fingers or an arm under medical treatment, or while on an IV drip or blood transfusion. Do not use it near MRI, CT or high frequency surgical equipment, or in oxygen rich environments. It is contraindicated for ambulatory use and use on aircraft, and Omron says not to use it in high-use settings such as medical clinics or physician offices. Consult your physician first if you have common arrhythmias, arterial sclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia or renal disease. It has not been validated for use on pregnant patients. It emits 2.4 GHz radio signals, so turn Bluetooth off where RF is restricted. Never adjust medication based on readings or EKG recordings.
