Description
Simple upper arm monitor with one-touch operation
The Omron Iron BP5000 is a straightforward upper arm blood pressure monitor: press one button and it measures systolic, diastolic and pulse rate. The included wide-range D-ring cuff fits upper arms 9 to 17 in (22 to 42 cm).
It flags an irregular heartbeat or body movement during a reading and stores your last reading. It runs on 4 AA batteries, which Omron does not include, for about 1000 measurements.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do batteries come with it?
No. Omron's manual says batteries are not included and you need to supply 4 AA batteries. An AC adapter is an optional accessory sold separately.
Does it connect to a phone?
No. The BP5000 has no wireless connection. It shows the reading on its screen.
How many readings does it store?
Only your last reading. You can view it with the memory function and delete it.
What cuff size does it take?
The included cuff fits upper arms 9 to 17 in (22 to 42 cm). The monitor itself works with arm circumference 7 to 17 in using the optional 7 to 9 in cuff.
What do the irregular heartbeat and movement symbols mean?
The irregular heartbeat symbol appears when an irregular rhythm is detected 2 or more times during a measurement, and it can also appear when arm movement is detected. The movement symbol appears when your body moves during a measurement. If it appears, remove the cuff, wait 2 to 3 minutes and measure again. If the irregular heartbeat symbol keeps appearing, Omron recommends consulting your physician.
Who should not use it?
It is for adults at home. Omron says not to use it on infants, toddlers, children or people who cannot express themselves, on an injured arm or an arm under medical treatment, or while on an IV drip or blood transfusion. Do not use it near MRI, CT or high frequency surgical equipment, or in oxygen rich environments. It is contraindicated for ambulatory use and for use on aircraft. Omron says to consult your physician before using it if you have common arrhythmias such as atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation, arterial sclerosis, poor perfusion, diabetes, pregnancy, pre-eclampsia or renal disease. Never adjust medication based on readings. It has not been validated for use on pregnant patients.
