Description
A pocket-sized mesh nebulizer for prescribed medication
The Omron NE-U100 MicroAir is a battery-powered vibrating mesh nebulizer that pushes liquid medication through the pores of a mesh to form a mist. It weighs about 4.2 oz (120 g) without batteries and runs quietly, listed at under 23 dBA.
It is for pediatric and adult patients and ships with a mouthpiece, child mask, mask adapter and 2 AA batteries. This is a prescription device (Rx only), so use only the medication and regimen your clinician has ordered, and clean the parts after each use as Omron directs.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a prescription?
Omron's manual is marked 'Rx ONLY' and the Omron product page says federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician or licensed healthcare practitioner. Follow your clinician's instructions for the type, dose and regimen of medication.
What medications can I use?
The manual lists the medication type as solution or suspension and says it is not intended for use with Pentamidine. Do not use water only for inhaling.
How much medication can it hold?
The medication container holds a maximum of 10 ml. Omron says not to add more than 10 ml and not to run the device with an empty container. Residual volume is approximately 0.5 ml.
How fast and how fine is the mist?
Omron lists a particle size (MMAD) of approximately 5 micrometers and a nebulization rate greater than 0.25 ml/min, measured with 0.9% saline. Omron states treatment time is 5 minutes for 2 ml.
How do I clean it?
Omron warns that failure to clean the components properly risks bacterial growth and serious illness. Clean the parts before first use and after each use. Wash the mesh cap, medication container, mouthpiece, mask and adapter in mild detergent and rinse with distilled water, then air dry. Do not use household bleach and do not touch or poke the mesh.
How often do the parts need replacing?
With twice-daily 10-minute use, Omron lists the main unit at 5 years and the medication container, mesh cap, mouthpiece, mask and mask adapter at 1 year each. Frequent use may shorten this.
Who should not use it?
Omron says not to use it on people who are unconscious or not breathing spontaneously, and not in anesthetic or ventilator breathing circuits. It is for single patient use and contains small parts, so keep it away from unsupervised young children. Stop and contact your physician if you have an allergic reaction or difficulty during use. Do not use or store it in humid places such as a bathroom or leave it in a vehicle, and keep mobile phones 12 inches away while it runs.
