Description
PRODIGY Pocket blood glucose monitoring system, a compact no-coding meter
The PRODIGY Pocket is a compact blood glucose meter that fits in a pocket. It measures from 20 to 600 mg/dL, requires no coding, and shows results on a large LCD screen. The meter measures about 3.5 by 1.4 by 0.8 inches and weighs 1.2 ounces.
It stores 120 results with date and time and has a USB data port for computer upload with free PRODIGY software from prodigymeter.com. One CR2032 battery powers over 1,000 tests, and the meter turns itself off after 2 minutes. It is not rechargeable.
The meter box includes the battery, a carrying case, an owner's manual, a log book and a quick reference guide. Test strips and lancets are bought separately. The system is not for diagnosing diabetes or testing newborns, and alternative site testing has limits listed in the manual.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Is it rechargeable?
No. The PRODIGY Pocket uses one 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery, rated for over 1,000 tests. It has a USB data port for computer upload, not for charging.
Do I need to code it?
No. The meter requires no coding.
Are test strips included?
Not in the meter-only box. PRODIGY meter kits list 10 strips, lancets and a lancing device, but this product is the meter. Buy PRODIGY test strips separately.
How many results does it store?
120 results with date and time.
Can I upload to a computer?
Yes. The meter has a USB data port, and PRODIGY offers free software at prodigymeter.com. A cable is not listed in the box.
Can I test from my forearm?
The manual allows alternative site testing with limits, such as waiting two hours after a meal. Ask your healthcare professional first. Use the fingertip if your readings change often.
What should it not be used for?
It is for fresh capillary whole blood outside the body. It should not be used to diagnose diabetes or to test newborns.
