LifeVac Yellow Travel Kit portable airway suction choking rescue device
The LifeVac Yellow Travel Kit is a portable, non-powered airway suction device for choking emergencies. It uses a hand-operated plunger with a one-way valve, so it needs no batteries or outlet, and it comes packed in a yellow zip-up bag that fits a car, daypack or diaper bag.
The kit includes one adult mask and one pediatric mask so you can choose the size that fits. To use it, place the mask over the nose and mouth, push the handle down, then pull up in a short, swift motion without breaking the seal. The manufacturer says one kit covers your whole family.
LifeVac is intended as a second step after standard choking rescue has not cleared the obstruction, and you should call 911. The manufacturer states the device itself never expires, but recommends replacing the masks every two to three years or by the date on their packaging. Watch the training video before you need it.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
When should LifeVac be used?
LifeVac is meant as a second step. The manufacturer's listing says to call 911 and perform standard choking rescue (5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts) first, and use LifeVac if the obstruction is not cleared.
How do I use it?
Place the appropriate-sized mask over the nose and mouth to create a good seal. While holding the mask in place, push the handle down with your other hand. Without breaking the seal, pull the handle upward in a short, swift motion.
Does it need batteries or power?
No. It is a hand-operated device with a one-way valve.
Does the device or the mask expire?
The manufacturer states the LifeVac device itself never expires. The mask manufacturer recommends replacing the masks every two to three years, or by the expiration date on the packaging.
What does the manufacturer say about its regulatory status?
LifeVac states: "LifeVac is the first and only FDA-authorized suction anti-choking device as a second-line treatment."
How should I store it?
The manufacturer advises avoiding direct sunlight, for example keeping it in a trunk or center console. Check the masks regularly, because temperature changes can affect the air level in the mask.
Should I train before I need it?
Yes. The manufacturer urges owners to watch the training video and become familiar with correct use before an emergency.
