Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Which cuff do I need?
Measure around your upper arm. The Standard cuff fits arms from 22 to 42 cm (8.7 to 16.5 in) and the XL cuff fits 42 to 48 cm (16.5 to 18.9 in). Use only the cuff supplied by iHealth.
Does it need the app?
No. You can use the monitor on its own. The free iHealth MyVitals app is for syncing and tracking readings by Bluetooth.
Which phones work?
iHealth states it is designed for Bluetooth 4.0 Apple devices and selected Bluetooth 4.0 Android phones. Check iHealth support for the current compatibility list.
What are the measurement ranges?
Systolic 60 to 260 mmHg, diastolic 40 to 199 mmHg and pulse 40 to 180 beats per minute, with pressure accuracy of plus or minus 3 mmHg and pulse accuracy of plus or minus 5%.
What does the irregular heartbeat symbol mean?
If an irregular heartbeat is detected, the IHB symbol blinks. iHealth says the result may then be inaccurate, so consult a physician.
Who should not use it?
It is designed for adults and should never be used on infants, young children or patients with preeclampsia. iHealth does not recommend it for people with serious arrhythmia. Consult a physician before use over a wound or inflamed area, on the side of a mastectomy, or on a limb with intravascular access or an A-V shunt.
What batteries does it use?
It uses 4 AAA batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not suitable for this monitor. Do not use it in a moving vehicle.
