Wi-Fi smart scale with body composition

The Withings Body Smart weighs from 11 to 440 lb and also reports BMI, pulse rate and body composition in the Withings app. It syncs over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth LE and shows results on a 2.86 inch color screen.

It runs about 15 months on four AAA alkaline batteries. Withings says it is intended for adults and not for people with a pacemaker, ICD or other implanted electronic device.

Per the Withings US user guide: weight, BMI, pulse rate, vascular age and an electrodermal activity score, plus body composition (fat, muscle and bone mass) for weight management. Details appear in the Withings app.

Who should not use it?

Withings says not to use the device if you have a cardiac pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), or other implanted electronic devices. It is intended for use in adults.

Is it for diagnosis?

No. Withings says self-diagnosis and self-treatment can be dangerous and to always consult your doctor with questions. It does not provide alarms and is not meant to continuously monitor vital signs in critical conditions.

Does it need my phone to sync?

Once set up in the Withings app, it syncs over Wi-Fi. It also supports Bluetooth LE with the app.
