A Littmann Cardiology IV with a digital mode

The Littmann CORE pairs a Cardiology IV analog stethoscope with an Eko CORE Digital Attachment, preassembled. One button switches between analog listening and amplification of up to 40x at peak frequency across 7 volume levels.

It connects by Bluetooth to the Eko app on iOS and Android for waveforms, recording and sharing, and it still works as an analog stethoscope with the power off. The battery gives at least 8 hours of continuous digital use after about 2.5 hours of charging.

What exactly is this?

How do I connect it?

Download the Eko app from the App Store or Google Play, create an Eko account and pair over Bluetooth. The app is where waveforms, recording and sharing happen.

Can I pair it directly with Bluetooth headphones or hearing aids?

No. The stethoscope does not pair with headphones directly. Playback to Bluetooth headphones, hearing aids or speakers goes through the Eko app. Eko has not tested all headphones.

Do I need a subscription?

Downloading the app is free. Eko+ is a paid subscription that unlocks recording, saving, sharing and PDF reports. Eko states Eko+ and AI features are currently available only in the United States, and AI outputs are not diagnoses.

How long does the battery last?

About 2.5 hours to charge fully, then at least 8 hours of continuous digital use. Eko says it generally lasts about 2 weeks between charges with normal use. It enters standby after 5 minutes of inactivity and will not operate while charging. Charge only with a UL-certified USB wall charger (5V max).

Does it have ECG?

How do I clean it, and what should I avoid?

Clean external parts between patients with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes. Do not immerse it, autoclave or chemically sterilize it, disassemble it or store it in extreme heat. Do not use it during MRI. Make sure ear tips are firmly attached before use.
