A simple chest strap for steady heart rate data

The Garmin HRM 200 is a chest strap heart rate monitor that transmits to compatible Garmin devices, fitness equipment and apps over ANT+ and Bluetooth. The module snaps off the strap so the strap can be washed.

It runs on a user-replaceable CR2032 battery rated up to 1 year at 1 hour per day and has a 3 ATM water rating. It comes in XS-S and M-XL strap sizes.

A user-replaceable CR2032, 3 V coin cell. Garmin lists up to 1 year at 1 hour per day. The strap's size slider doubles as the tool for opening the battery cover.

How do I check the battery level?

Press the button on the module to wake it, or open the sensors menu on a connected Garmin device or the Garmin Connect app.

How do I wash the strap?

Unsnap and remove the module first. Rinse the strap after every use and wash it after every seven uses in water no hotter than 40C (104F). Do not put it in a dryer.

What if my heart rate data looks erratic?

Garmin suggests pressing the button to wake the module, reapplying water to the electrodes, checking both snaps, warming up for 5 to 10 minutes, making sure the strap is snug and moving away from interference such as strong electromagnetic fields or 2.4 GHz devices.
