A rechargeable chest strap with ANT+ and Bluetooth

The Garmin HRM 600 is a chest strap heart rate monitor that connects to compatible Garmin devices, fitness equipment and apps over ANT+ and Bluetooth. With a compatible Garmin watch it also provides running dynamics such as cadence, stride length and ground contact time.

It has a rechargeable battery rated up to 2 months at 1 hour per day and a 5 ATM water rating. It can record timed activities for up to 24 hours through the Garmin Connect app and store heart rate while swimming.

Frequently asked questions
Does it use a replaceable battery?

No. The HRM 600 has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that charges through a proprietary Garmin cable. Garmin says charging can take up to 3 hours, and at least 10 minutes gives up to two hours of use.

How long does the battery last?

Garmin lists up to 2 months at 1 hour per day. Press the button on the module, or check the Garmin Connect app, to see the battery level.

What is the difference between secure and open connections?

Secure Bluetooth is encrypted and authenticated and works with supported Garmin devices. Open connections, including ANT+ and some Bluetooth, work with all Garmin devices compatible with heart rate monitors and are recommended for third-party watches, tablets or fitness equipment. Press the button twice quickly to switch.

Do running dynamics work with any watch?

No. Running dynamics need a compatible Garmin device connected by ANT+ or secure Bluetooth.

Can I swim with it?

Yes, it stores heart rate while swimming, but data is not sent to a paired Garmin device while the module is underwater. It downloads afterward, and only some Garmin devices support swim heart rate. Garmin rates it 5 ATM (pressure equivalent to a depth of 50 m).

How do I wash the strap?

Unsnap and remove the module first. Rinse the strap after every use and wash it after every seven uses in water no hotter than 40C (104F). Do not use a dryer or too much detergent.

Which strap size do I need?

The HRM 600 comes in XS-S and M-XL. Choose the size shown on the option you select. Garmin's sizing chart on garmin.com lists chest measurements.
