Description
A fast forehead scan that syncs over Wi-Fi
The Withings Thermo scans the forehead from up to 1 cm away using 16 infrared sensors to find the hottest point. A color-coded LED shows the result on the device and the Withings app keeps readings for up to 8 people.
It connects over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and runs on 2 AAA batteries rated for 2 to 3 years. Withings states accuracy of plus or minus 0.2 C (0.4 F) from 35.5 to 42.0 C for intermittent home monitoring.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I take a reading?
Remove the protective cap, then start at the center of the forehead and scan toward the temple, holding the thermometer up to 1 cm from the skin. Wait one minute between readings.
What should I do before measuring?
Withings says the device and patient should be in the same ambient temperature for 10 minutes. Wait 15 minutes after a bath, exercise, or after the thermometer has been stored in a cool or warm room. Remove hair or sweat from the forehead first and do not measure over irritated skin or scars.
Does it connect to an app?
Yes. It connects to the Withings app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and keeps readings for up to 8 users.
Can I use it on babies?
The device is intended for adults, children and babies, but it is not suitable for babies born before term. For babies under 3 months Withings says to take 3 readings in a row and use the highest if they differ, and to consult a doctor about any rise in temperature.
When should I call a doctor?
Withings says to consult a doctor about a temperature rise in babies under 3 months, patients over 60, immunocompromised, bedridden or transplanted patients, and if other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, pain or stiff neck occur even without fever. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before using it. It is for intermittent home monitoring, not self-diagnosis.
How accurate is it and what is its range?
Withings states a measuring range of 35 to 43.2 C (95 to 109.8 F), with accuracy of plus or minus 0.2 C (0.4 F) from 35.5 to 42.0 C, and plus or minus 0.3 C (0.5 F) outside that range.
What batteries does it use?
It uses 2 AAA alkaline batteries, already installed, which Withings rates at 2 to 3 years of life. Replace both at the same time. Clean it with a soft dry cloth and do not submerge it.
